D.C. Criminal Code § 703

(1)Any law enforcement officer, or other person holding the ability to make arrests without warrant, and deliberately—. (a) Imprisons another person without legal basis; (b)Executes an arrest warrant more than the permitted times; or (c) Imprisons someone with reason but under the incorrect arrest type or code, Shall be guilty of False imprisonment. (2)This shall be a Class B offense.
