D.C. Criminal Code § 805

(a) All persons operating a vehicle travel at or below 70 m/h (seventy miles per hour) in city areas such as those with housing or street lighting. (b)All persons operating a vehicle travel at or below 55 km/h (fifty five miles per hour) outside of governmental buildings, including but not limited to; (i) The White House; (ii) Town Hall; (iii) Congressional Offices; (iv) Harry S Truman Building (Department of State); (v) United Nations Building; (vi) District Courts; (vii) National Guard Headquarters and; (viii) Department of Homeland Security. (c) All persons operating a vehicle exceeding the applicable speed limit are guilty of Speeding. (d)This shall be a Class G offense.
